I had never fished Taneycomo and went this past weekend and Monday. Was going to fish Tuesday morning before heading home but the rain was relentless and a tad too heavy at times. It was a great trip with the people and the food and drink. Unfortunately, the fishing wasn't so hot. Even the seasoned veterans to Taneycomo weren't lighting it up. We caught some, but nothing to write home about. I had a pretty good one on and got it about 10' from the boat before it spit it out. My partner had the net ready and the line just went slack. Since I'm not a trout expert, I have to make and uneducated guess on the weight. I'm guessing 5-6 lbs. After a few drinks that night, it got up to 10
I'll certainly go back, but I'll take a buddy that has been fishing it 4-5 times a for 30+ years. He gave me some great advice and intel, but being in a boat with someone like that is way better.
