Same here - but not out of State. Jackson County Missouri decided they were pretty much arbitrarily going to "reassess" the entire County two years ago. Increases in taxes were up more than 80% from the previous year for some.

It has got to the point the AG is investigating and there are multiple law suits. We bought two acres on a small lake that will never be crowded in the next County over and are about a month from the new place being finished.
