Grif was 3rd in State in the 800 his Jr. year and the favorite to win state his Sr. year. He had ran the 3rd fastest 800 time in the country, in his Sr. track season, when he went down with Mono. Done. It serves them well down the road....they learn what it takes to be successful, and how easy it is to lose it. That young man will be a Capt. in the Marine Corps in 4 months....he'll be out in less than a year...he has a great future lined up. Most of his success can be directly tied to picking his own arse up after he fell time and again in athletics.....you can't teach them that.
