I don’t know what happened behind the scenes but it sounded like Gates was saying all the right things in the media and on the court. Nobody wanted to step up and lead in the Drake game…that was apparent. I am not sure I would consider Grill the team leader, but he totally lost his offensive rhythm the last 6 games they played and that was a difference maker I think. Still can’t be mad at them with the turnaround year they had, but it was disappointing to see how it ended. With NIL and transfer portal, can they string together another positive year?
