Hard to believe he will be 16 in just a few weeks. Had 3 birds all grouped up with some hens. Very vocal in the tree and gobbled good on the ground until the hens moved in. Once that happened, I had to cut and hit them hard to get them to make a sound. Ended up seeing them through all the trees a couple hundred yards away. Finally talked one into leaving the group and heading our way. Took close to 45 minutes for him to get in on us. I figured he would pop out of the creek straight at us, since he was walking to us that way. Instead he hit the creek and circled in on us. Showed up 20 yards away with his head low. A couple soft yelps got him to look up to take a load of 2" #'5's to the face. Great hunt. Took until 8:20 to get him in. Great start to the MOMO season. Post Extras
