couple months ago i brewed a winter beer. biggest one i've ever brewed. i took my 6.5% abv smoked porter recipe and bumped it up to over 10%. all grains too, no sugar or extract to elevate it. Maxed out my mash/lauter tun as it required 25# of grains to hit that mark. It's been kegged and aging. It ended up at 10.2% and it's good. I was expecting some alcohol bite at first, but the blend of grains was just right.
I've got 5 gal of it that I've been sipping on. I like to blend in some of my pumpkin ale with it. Makes a real nice evening beer.
