waaaaaaay back in the mid nineties, I hosted the first internet duck calling contest (and probably last) with World Champ Jim James as judge
we would have the contestant use the Sound Recorder software that came with Windows and a cheap microphone to record their "routine"-- then email it to me and I'd set it up in my old web page
Sound Recorder produced a wav file that was compressed in file size that could be uploaded to a web server and you would post it as a link -- just like a image or anything else that you would link
it was under Accessories/Sound Recorder in the start button dealio
You might look into it-- I imagine you might even be able to convert it to mp3
Audacity is supposed to be freeware that pretty much can handle any sound file--at least that is what several sound hounds tell me
