So they have replaced James Shields, Billy Butler and Nori Aoki with Edison Volquez, Kendrys Morales, and Alex Rios. So overall do you think they have improved the club, stayed about the same or slid backwards?
I hope that Morales and Rios have bounce back years which will definitely help the offense. Volquez has the talent to contribute but has been somewhat of a "head case" in the past. Plus I don't think that he has never pitched in the American League which could be an issue.
Thoughts?

Alex Rios for Aoki will prove to be a positive.
Morales for Butler will be seen over time - speed is a wash - first base relief for Hos is a wash - lefty versus righty might help if they can get some people advanced on base prior to him coming up - hopefully he will drive the ball to the outfield grass instead of rolling it into the infield grass.
Volques for Shields who knows - I think they will miss Shields clubhouse spark as he was looked up to but the mound performance might be a wash. I think your leader on the mound this year is going to be the youngest on the roster....Ventura...he will pick up the leadership that might be missed without Shields.
Just my opinion....which is also we are just one position change from being there....that is second base.

Haven't seen anything that really turns me off yet. Time will tell. Hopefully we got rid of half our double plays. Think it will be hard to get anything for Infante at second.

I'm not saying he was all that and a bag of chips but OI did tie for third on the team in RBI with 66.
And Mel, Salve actually hit into more DP's than Billy...

2014's KC Royals 89 win season was a fluke. Dont plan on another post season run in 2015. More more did you expect from a "hater" as Mel calls me

Wait.....the Royals don't have Billy Butler anymore? Well, there goes the ONLY possible reason to watch baseball in "HomeofToto" City.

Technically it's still this year!
The 30 year clock does not start until pitchers and catchers report to Spring training.
So....stay out of our 30 year celebration.

Is that 101 regular season wins, or a combination of some fuked up west side math of some variation of regular season wins, plus playoff wins. Just a reminder.....the ALCS is still 7 games and not 5 like you once thought......which means you should stick to stuff you know about like putting out fires.

Thanks for the reminder....I will put that in my planner for October of 2044....but I am sure you will still be reminding me of it so the planner really isn't needed
