Well we know they won't lose 20 in a row anyway.
Pretty good team with lots of firepower coming.
Can they managed .500 in the SEC??

It don't make a fork to me....they beat KS....the season is a success
Actually, I think if they can clean a few things up they could surprise a bunch of folks.
1. They can't penetrate like they did yesterday against Illinois and miss three shots within 2 feet of the rim and expect to win.
2. You can't miss free throws like they did yesterday either.
I think they left about 12 points on the floor between the two. They fix those two aspects and I think they could be ranked within a few weeks. Couple of big games coming up shortly.

Big time W last night in FL. They put together a damn strong first half - lots of offensive rebounds for second and third chance points which I hadn’t seen much at all this year.
Second half they did what they had to do, but Florida made some adjustments and it was tougher. Not as many rebounds and they were not good from the line at all. The officials let them have at it all game.
14-3 with some big wins…..Florida and Kansass (12-3)…would make one think they have to break into the rankings this week.
This team seems deep - hopefully they stay healthy through February into March.

They won despite the officiating...some of the worst homer calls ever.
Deep deep bench....freshman Barrett finishing up the game was pretty cool.
They are presently under rated and showing a penchant to match up with top teams....just what you want for the dance.
I think .500 in the conference should get them in.

Dear God,
Please...just allow a beat down on the hogs on Saturday.
Without any mercy.
Thank you God.

Hopefully the home crowd will keep them pumped up and they play hard all game.
I think the only way I could hate Calipari more would be if he coached KU.

Agree....let them slowly climb up those ranks as February rolls along - hopefully they peak at the right time and go deep in the dance....still early, but I think if they can stay healthy and gel even more, they might be the darkhorse this year.

Yeah they are going to be playing 6 ranked teams, 3 of which in top ten.
So every win they can bank is big for the dance ticket.
Keep the stinkers away and maybe try to win 3 of those big 6 games? Can they come away 12-6 in the confernce? Very difficult in the SEC, particularly on the road, but a 3-4 seed is even within reach.
They are big and strong and they look like a team made for the Tournament more so than most Missouri teams.
Hope DG can keep the wheels on.

Definitely a stinker. Wholly buckets…or lack there of in the first 5 minutes.
Just hope they can flush last night and feed off the crowd Saturday to beat Mississippi State. It is one they really need to win.

I really like gates but man he exposs himself with this 10+ man rotation.
Mizzou has a deep bench but at some point DG needs to find his right 6-8 players to count on on a regular basis. What was with all the Crews love??
But that game was actually lost by players who just weren't ready and did not perform.
Hoping it's a loss with lessons.
This was a needless and potentially big one for the loss column.

That was the proper response to the Tx. loss. Nice to see a game at Mizzou Arena be a problem for opponents again.

True dat. Didn’t look good to go down 0-8 in the first two minutes, but come back to be up 16-14 within another five minutes and no really looking back after that.
Free throw percentage sucked but they played some good ball other than that.

Up two spots to #20 even with a loss. Steady movement and hope Gates is right, he said in an interview I saw over the weekend they are still making improvements daily as a team and the cohesiveness will only get better as the season progresses.
Hope they peak at the right time.

Boys came to play today….Grill was the Deal!!!
More offensive rebounds and good ball movement. Strong win against a higher ranked team.
They seem to be figuring it out and it’s enjoyable to watch as a fan.

I think the Tigers are becoming the team nobody wants to play. They are so deep they just wear other teams down to nothing, which is exactly what happened yesterday.
Tenn is a good test Wed. night...but they're down to 7 scholarship players...I don't see them beating Missouri.
I have watched a ton of college basketball while recuperating from this damn surgery....if the tourney was held today I think Mizzou is a legit #2 seed. I think that will play out as the rest of the season unfolds.

What a frigging game!
If they wanna come out play D like that along with an 88 point offense good Lord.
Two ranked wins in a row and 2 coming up. So hard to win on the road so Tenn is going to be a tough game but again, with their play right now I would not count them out.
Grill off the bench....hahaha I hope they keep it that way.....whether they're up or down just deadly to have him there waiting to come in.
A lot of these players appear to be just coming into their game. Big and strong team. Pretty exciting.

Man what a tale of two half’s. They started the game off the same way as they have been, going down 8 or so to 0 but then coming back quick to be ahead by the time the score passed 20 points. They were very orchestrated the first half and went into the locker with a respectable lead.
Tennessee made the right adjustments and stayed glued to the outside game and Gates didn’t have an answer for it. Zero penetration and they somehow thought they could stay with the perimeter game plan with at least one defender in their jock straps at all times.
They did make a good push at the end of the game that made it look closer than it could have been.
Overall, they were not expected to go into and beat Tennessee on their home court, but I still believe it could have very easily happened if Mizzou could have made the right adjustments. When defenders are playing around the 3-point arch there is plenty of cuts that open up and it just seemed like the Tigers hadn’t prepared for that.
Hopefully a good bounce back game Saturday in CoMo…we shall see.

I like that analysis Dabs.
But fact is Tennessee was playing out of their azz on those 3's.
They are NOT even known for 3 point execution.
The SEC is just brutal. Yet another stronger ranked team opponent (10) this Saturday.
But I thought Missouri hung in and on a better day could have beat Tennessee even with their seeing eye 3's.
Onward we go.
Go Tigers!

I don't think that game hurts Mizzou at all. Tennessee is a damn problem....they have the horses to dominate inside if they play that game. I watched their last game against Florida. They went into the half basically tied...I think Tenn was up by a couple, but they had been down all half....and then they came out and destroyed the Gators in the 2nd half. They are well coached.
