Fact is who ever he has paired with Petro has had a hard time of it and struggled. Jbo, Eddy, Bortz, it doesn't matter. At least Eddies game has come around now last 2 outings.
I thought Bortz and Dunn were/are good together.
Eddie gets the short straw.

Well, the other thought might be to put Bartuzzo and Dunn on Thornton....since he's on their 3rd line.
Also....I think Thornton may not be what he has been in the past....he's -4 in the playoffs this year. Then again, that asshole is -30 in his playoff career. He's only playing about 14 minutes a game, but his only job is to create hell.
I really believe his mission in this series will be to fork with the rookie in goal.....and somebody needs to be there to put a stop to it. Binnington is not fooling anyone anymore.....his skill even caught the Stars of guard. I don't think that's gonna happen again.

You would think he would DO something about it.
Sharks had their way and managed to not even look good doing it. Blues looked like the Washington Generals.
Knowing Chief, he will make some moves that he can. I sure would.

I hope.....because I don't think we saw the Sharks "A" game and the Blues had no answers.
I've been telling myself it wasn't that bad and there were bright spots....but that was pretty dismal. I wouldn't even know where to start.

Hard to tell if that was the Sharks best. Blues made it so easy on them they didn't really have to do much. But I don't think it was.
You don't want a chit game like that for game #1. You want to fork up a game 3 or 4 when you are tied up in the series or have a lead.
Got to get this series to 2-2 imo. Got to win two of next three. I suggest they start tonight.

Changed the pairings.....poor Jbo drew the short straw.....and then Chief had to also juggle the blue line ice time in the third to save the game. But that won't work the whole series. NO ONE has been able to cover for Petros D play well enough all season. Hoping Berube's "benching" hit home I think it's the first time I've ever seen that.
Not a great game but it was a great win. Every play off Blues team of the past since 2000 would have caved after they let them tie it up.
Can't believe you're not on the Bortz wagon after calling him out to replace Petro a few days ago. He had an amazing game across the board. Beating Thornton was the absolute best.
Need to keep pounding Karlsson....he's hurt and they need to pound him off the ice.
This team needs to shoot every chance they get. Jones has shown nothing so far.
Binner fairly pedestrian tonight....and is still so dang good.
It's all here for them if they want it. I still don't trust the hate for the Sharks is enough, show me.

I've been a Bortuzzo fan since he got here, you know that. He steamrolled a few players last night, scored the winner, and was solid as hell. I was surprised to see he only had about 12 total minutes on the ice.....he was there for most of the good stuff so I had thought he played more. He HAS to play in this series, and should they advance, he'll really be needed against Boston. (Carolina has NO chance and shouldn't even be there)
I disagree about Binnington......I think his puck handling skills are off the chart, and make a huge difference. The Blues have a BIG goaltending advantage in this series....and they need to keep throwing pucks at Jones....because they don't have a lot of other advantages right now.
Karlsson is a bigger pouzzy than Perron.....hard to imagine, but it's plainly evident.
I wouldn't have thought that game would be enough to beat the Sharks....but there it is. I'll take the win and I think the Blues saw a few chinks in the armor that will bode well for them in the rest of the series.
I hope the Blues trade Tarasenko in the off season.....I'm done with that guy and he should have some good value.
How about the captain breaking his stick over the goalpost, damn near in Binnington's face, after the giveaway shorthanded goal. He's a forking embarrassment.

I am pretty sure Bortz really slammed Sorensen last night and impacted his game. Dudes on a mission.
Binner is and has been the man. No diss here. I just imagined how Allen would have been flopping like a fish on that late net front attack where he stood cool and tall. His puck handling has been huge for both series and his whole demeanor is unreal no matter what's happening in front of him.
Get it to 2-2, win another roadie and bring it home for game 6.
They have to skate hard 20/20/20 to do it.

I don't know.....I'm not so sure I want this to go to the best 2 of 3 against that team. They need to win these both at home and keep that advantage. San Jose plays great at home...the Blues have taken that advantage from them and need to hold it...this thing goes to 7 and the Blues are the Blubs again.
