Only hunted until the lunchtime crappie were consumed. Then left for the day and didn't go back Sunday. Got 5 on Saturday between the 4 of us in the blind (3 gadwall, 1 woodie and 1 ringneck). But the crappie was tasty!!
Went this morning for a few hours and bagged 1 bluebill hen. The lake got buzzed by a flock and one of the other blinds took a shot at 'em (hard to imagine there was someone else as dumb as me out this morning). One cripple limped over me and that was the only time I lifted my gun.
Next hunts will be Friday and Sat. Something about the next 2-3 days forecast doesn't get me too excited. At least the winds switch around from the NW later in the week.

Wingman called this morning on his way in
He hunted the timber hole even if it was a poor wind for that spot (less poor than the pond blind)
scratched a woodrow and a gadwall--
Said all the ducks were south of M and east of the creek
Like you, he is looking for a NW wind next weekend (our place does much better on North to West winds--but you go when you can)
Probably just as well it is warm and south winds this week-- too many things have to get done this week at the house and too many pix to frame

There was a little shooting out on the river this morn in the Winfield pool... At least there was in the first hour or two.
I did see a few mallards on the refuge at Leach, just north of M, as I was driving out.
