The blind is brushed, the decoys are out and the shells have been bought. All we need now are some ducks. Yute hunt on our lake was a success and we're seeing lots-o-ducks around. My guess is opening day will be good, Sunday will be a little less and the rest of the week will suck, due to temps in the 70's and South winds. Then we wait for a front...
Hope everyone gets out as much as they can and enjoys the season. Be safe!!!

Sounds good Andy
We pumped the upper pond to hunting level 2 weeks ago--tested the 'ice pump' and it looks like we will have open water there regardless of weather
Timber hole has a major gumbo bottom so we repaired the pallet walkway which makes getting in the blind much easier and since someone usually gets stuck and falls--drier
then set the well and pump to work on the lower timber blind--
The calculations said we had to pump for 5 to 7 days at 400 gallons a minute
(you can do the math but it is a lot of water )
About half the decoys are out--will add the rest around Vet's Day
A lot of work just to not shoot ducks
Wingman and another knothead will be up there this afternoon-- they will put any ducks to bed and I am sure to get a call with the report and any prognostications for the am
They will have breakfast ready for the faithful tomorrow morning and have the coffee pots working over time
I'll run up there tomorrow morning for a cup of coffee before walking out to the blind
Foley weather forecast calls for cloudy and rain tonight-- and rain about shooting time
Hopefully we will have a duck or two in the box when Mr Greenjeans shows up and we go through the ritual of license,ID, magnet for testing the shells and plug check
Funny since he has been a 'visitor' twice during the teal season and everything checked out--
he must like us
Good luck

I HATE when the opener falls on the last day of the month because that means my happy arse will at work.
Sunday I'll be taking the step-daughter to try and kill a goat on a youth hunt.
Hopefully they'll still be some around next week..
Good luck and be safe to those venturing out.

Yes........by all means lets move it up a week so you can hunt and the skeeters will be Twice as thick.........then again......I really don't care, since I don't hunt in MO anyway.

WTF? Dog I said I hate it because I have to work on the date not that it's starting later than normal. It could start on any day in November and I'd be fine with it.

Ducks be 15 min from the house in Oklahoma. Texas ducks soon to be 2 hours from the new job in Oklahoma. Open all of November, December, and January. Why stop in December when MDC says you have to?
