For you MacQuyver types...
I've got an old 5hp Ted Williams/Eska/Sears type motor that has the throttle lever up on the cowling. Have any of you ever converted something like this to a squeeze or twist type throttle? Is it even possible? If so, what would it take?

Best thing you could do with that moror is go to the middle of the lake and loosen the mounting screws. Now start it, put it in gear, and hammer the throttle. Then watch it convert itself into the twist delio you was askin about.

Foots, this motor was given to me by my dad, who taught me how to hunt and fish. He died of syphilis a couple of years ago. It's the only thing I have left of him. I thought that if I could use his motor on my layout boat... it would kind of be like having him there to hunt with me again. Thanks for the suggestion that I pitch it in the lake.

Maybe, in memoralization of your dad, you could go down to the sex shop...well, okay, tomorrow morning when you are there....pick up one of those 12" peters made of rubber and mount it to the motor. Run the control into it where you twist it one way to increase throttle and the other to decrease throttle.
Of course, you would need to rig it up where you pulled it out and pushed it in really fast to "choke" it
I think that would make pappabean a proud dead syphallian

"denigrating" -- that word there is work the price of admission itself.
And just to clarify - I was serious about the dildo. But, just like with everything else in life, there is room for improvement...and the second generation would be using a vibrator instead. That would give you a much firmer handle for starters.....and the bonus is a built in reastat. You could somehow wire up the throttle to it and control the speed that way.
Just sayin.

Just a wild ass guess hera, but I'm thinking a throttle assembly off a motorcycle would be the way to go. It's gonna require a few pieces be fabricated fo' sho'.
You could use the clutch lever assembly for a squeeze type, but that would take some more tinkering to get it to open the throttle all the way.
