Any of you ever build blind doors on your 4 rivers boat? I can't figure out what to do for the hinges.

Don't know what STTH suggested, but I bought mine used from Fleabag, and he had what looks to me to be some galvanized electrical conduit clamps. I ended up leaving a gap between the doors so I could shoulder my gun without having to get the doors open.

I was thinking about something like that but couldn't figure out where to attach them. Do you have a conduit frame for your doors or are you just using welded wire or cattle panels. I was thinking about using cattle panels.

What about tank netting? We're not keeping dogs or hogs in the boats so why use wire that will snag waders? That ground blind I built that I used chicken wire is coming off and going to tank netting........ if I had a small piece. Starting to sound like someonelse here!

The doors are made from sections of cattle panel, bent into a curved shape.

We use 3/4" marine grade plywood....keeps the wind and rain out. Kind of heavy...but you can walk on the doors when they are closed and the coil springs make them flip right open when you hit the release peddle.
Fork those dam mesh panels.

Don't listen to that goober.....someone who didn't know any better might actually waste the money trying to make doors that weigh 35 lbs each....

If you camouflage yourself well enough you don't need doors. I would suggest one of a few different dabouflage patterns available. Of course the clothing pattern must match the boat pattern to be most effective.
Guns are an entirely different issue in and of themselves.

I've switched the side-by-side doors on my boats to a single, flip-down flap A LA the Conservation Dept's pit flaps.
These weigh 67 pounds and are 5 feet tall, and are a GREAT duck conservation tool, since most ducks are spooked well out of range by the time the flap falls and you can shoot.
They're hell on spoonies coots and grebes, however.

I've never had doors before but get tired of my damn grass falling in the water. My x-lander fits nice inside the cockpit but that's just one more big azz bulky thing to carry.

Or when the dog decides he wants to take a chit on the boat. You can just flip it out in the water!

Never had a dog chit on the front of my boat, but I do have a heckuva time keepin him outta the cockpit and off the blind. He's stays in his place when I'm in the boat but when I get out for any reason at all, especially setting or picking up decoys he thinks he gets free run of the boat so he's in and out of it till every thing is soaked and the boat full of water. Yeah I can train it out of him....just another thing on my list of screwups that need fixin with this dog.....

I set my dog on the back of my boat when I'm working on hunting stuff or decoys in the garage. He has set up there on and off for hours throw an occasional bumper and put him back on "place" it does not take long
