Bubba and Billy Joe are walking down the street in
St. Louis. It is their first trip to the "big city" and they are just amazed by the sights and sounds.
Then they see a sign on a store which
reads, "Suits $5.00 each!, shirts $2.00 each!,
trousers $2.50 each!
Bubba (being the thinker) says to his pal, "Billy Joe, Look here now! We could buy a whole gob of these, take'em back to Searcy, sell 'em to our friends, and make us a fortune!"
Billy Joe thinks Bubba is a genius.
"Just let me do the talkin' Billy Joe, cause if they hear your accent, they might think we're ignorant Arkies, and not wanna sell that stuff to us. Now, I'll jes talk in a slow Mississippi drawl so's they don't know we is from Arkansas."
They go in and Bubba says with his best fake Mississippi drawl, "I'll take 50 of them there suits at $5.00 each, 100
of them there shirts at $2.00 each, and 50 pairs of them
there trousers at $2.50 each. I'll back up my pickup
and..."
The owner of the shop interrupts, "You boys are from Arkansas, ain't ya?"
"Well...yeah," says a surprised Bubba...."How come you
knowed that?"
"Because this is a dry-cleaners."

I can't let that stand as the ARKIE Yoke fo the day.....
young arkie goes courtin.. gone for the weekend....
come trudgin up the hollow and meets the old man rockin in his chair on the porch puffin on a corncob pipe....
Timmy John says "DADDY, I founf the perfect woman... She sews her own clothes, grows a garden.. went fishin and caught more fish than me, cooked it as good as granny's catfish ... got a face prettier than a hereford calf and best of all...... I think she is still a virgin!!!!"
The old man spits and says "Son, if she aint good enuf for her own family, she aint good enuf for ours!!!""""
now dat is an ARKIE story .. though it is older than IIFID's kids..
