Might actually get a push. No Alberta clipper, but better than the status quo.

I just ordered another case for insurance purposes. I always order from Dunn's in Pevely, MO or from Rogers, in Liberty, MO. I saw a good deal on the Federal shells I usually shoot, at Rogers. They were $139 for a case. Then I noticed it was for 8 boxes/200 shells ($.70 per shell). Then I saw my usual case for $179 ($.72 per shell). So I go to Dunn's to see if the raping would be a little more gentile and I found my usual case for $159 ($.64 per shell). Looks like it is Dunns this time around.
When the hell did a case become 8 boxes? I guess that is what they call shrinkflation...

A case used to be 20 boxes. Especially for light loads.

funny that you brought this up. i'm still shooting shells from a case i bought in 2001!
I didn't hunt for 10 years in between, but found the shipping slip (no price) on a case of #5's, Federal Hi Power Pheasant loads
Case of 10 boxes, 25 shells from cheaper than dirt.com
Yeah, I remember buying cheap dove loads by the case at walmarks for $25 back then too. $2.50 a box, a dime a shell and I think these pheasant loads were $5-7 a box back then.

I remember when you used to be able to buy a case of Winchester steel shot from Rogers for $89.00 a case (10 boxes of 25) and they would throw in a dozen Bond Mallard decoys.
I've got a couple of cases of leftovers in the ammo closet, but did buy a case of the Winchester 3" #2/#3 mix this year....1550 fps....they have been a good load so far. Pretty impressed with them. Did have one that stove piped, but it was probably from not cleaning my gun.
It has been good here the last week - we hunted 3 acres of corn we left standing over the weekend and left the main pool alone. Birds built up nice there and we have been "picking away" at them for the last three days.
Mixed bag with lots of teal, gads, wigeons, pintails and a few mallards...hopefully the NW wind and colder temps last night thru tomorrow will bring a push of the greenheads to play.
