Royals fans remind me much of Mizzou fans when we play nobgobbler U in basketball. As long as Mizzou wins, its a successful season. As long as the Westside new money beats the old money eastside team, it's a successful season.
Last I checked, if the season ended today one team make the playoffs. The other one sits at home. I'll take that if it means being swept by KC.

Did Mo do enough in the offseason. He went after some good pitching.......and he also went after some old pitching and players. The 20024 Season could be sponsored by AARP.
Did he get enough players to make it happen or do they struggle to make a run into the playoffs?? Looking at the roster, I'd say we need to buy tickets now to the 2014 World Series.:rotflmao:
I still say 90 game winner and they make the playoffs. Mo and company will be on the hot seat if they aren't in 1st place by end of May. Maybe having Yadi back with help Oli out, but if they struggle, I see him gettiing fired and replaced by Yadi mid season.
I say @ most 80 game winner.
Marmot is just horrible.
Bout the only bright spots so far is shortstop..& late inning relief.
Sad to see this bunch compared to all the gr8 teams players & managers of the past!
Dam impressive run the El Birdoes r on !
Hope they keep it up. Playin up to their potential I suppose!

I think both teams make the playoffs this year....and last year proved once again a wild card team has just as good of chance of hosting the hardware as anyone else...so I would say either team has a chance....maybe a longshot, but a chance.
But...this is just a new money, knobgobblerU hating fan speaking jibberish

If the Cardinals are going to make the play offs...in any meaningful way.... they better giddy up.
We'll see what Mo's TDL deals bring but bouncing around the 5 games over mark ain't gonna cut it.
Maybe the rookie they just brought up and the prize guy in the trade can bring this pitching staff up to play off level.........along with some pop from the guys in the line up who are paid to pop.
But so far way too much disappoint in this group.

the more time that passes, the more you appreciate Larussa and his staff..
he had his quirks that made folks dislike him, but there was never any doubt that his teams were prepared and would compete..
closest management has come to larussa, was shildt. everyone else has been subpar and if they did have a good season, it was usually the season following larussa or shildt's last season.

Shildt has a 1 in 6 chance of wining the division in San Diego.............meanwhile the coup used to replace him has a 1 in 5000 chance of winning his Division.

I guess miracles can happen, but I feel very confident that this season is gone. What makes it worse is the damage this F'd up management has done to the likes of so many talented players. If I were Jordan Walker's agent, I would talk him into letting me approach the Cardinals about demanding a trade. This guy is a generational talent and they have screwed him up six ways to Sunday. Same with Gorman and a few of the young pitchers. I have defended Mo for years but the Cardinals need a very large broom to clean out the front office and the coaching staff. They seem to be working under a philosophy that worked years ago but is no longer relevant. Putting together mediocre teams, with an inexperienced Manager, in hopes of squeaking into the playoffs and catching lightening in a bottle is a foolish approach.
I don't think I watched any full games this year and only watched parts of 25 or less. This team is painful to watch. They are not prepared to compete every night.
This must be what if feels like to be a Cubs fan.
