Have you paid attention to this Yankees story?
15 dingers in the opening series of the season....a majority with a "new" bat designed by a physicist for the team....which MLB said over the weekend they approved at the beginnig of Spring training.
I bet every front office in the league has instructed their research and development department to go "full torpedo ahead"

Who can be excited about the state of todays MLB?
I get enjoying watching the players play....but watching 400 million dollar teams play like it's some kind of competitive accomplishment?
No thanks.

i heard about them this weekend and saw some of the bats online.
they look like fastpitch softball bats..
i haven't figured out if the end of the bat is smaller now or not and I also wonder if moving some meat towards the hands has improved the balance some?
years ago, i got my oldest one of those axe handled bats, cause he'd split some wood in his youth. Those felt good in my hands and I thought they helped keep the wrists parallel to the ground, at contact. The metal bats themselves, sounded dead to me. He used it one year, someone dented it and I got it replaced under warranty and then sold it to a younger kid. That was our experience with those.
we'll see how this experiment goes
