Cannot complain at all about coming in as a #6 seed after not seeing the tourney for a while. They can’t look past the 1st round but it looks like a probable MU Texas Tech matchup in the second round.
The starters need to play like starters and Grill needs to have a come to Jesus meeting with himself and find his stride…he has had no lack of hustle the last three weeks but his shot rhythm has been off. Crews has tried to pick up the slack there but it is going to take the first five in addition to going 4 or 5 deep off the bench with strong performances to go deep in this tourney.
I would love to see an elite 8 appearance but as long as they play respectable ball I think fans should be happy with the turnaround from a year ago.

Drake scares the crap out of me. That coach has won the D2 National Championship 4 times in a row....and 4 of their kids came with him. They don't lose....they handled Vandy easily, at Vandy. They can play a VERY slow game that Mizzou won't like. I think Mizzou is playing some of their worst ball of the season right now. Grill is playing like a spaz. Maybe getting Mitchell back will help...I think they're gonna need it. Classic 6/10 upset trap.

Mitchells game will be key here and someone has to hit from perimeter.
Missouri SHOULD WIN.....but Gates has to have them focused and not playing Drakes game.

How do you have one of the deepest benches in the SEC and let Drake pull you into a game of old man basketball that they love to play?

This team sure peaked at the wrong time and disappointed in the last three weeks of play.
I don’t know what happened behind the scenes but it sounded like Gates was saying all the right things in the media and on the court.
Nobody wanted to step up and lead in the Drake game…that was apparent. I am not sure I would consider Grill the team leader, but he totally lost his offensive rhythm the last 6 games they played and that was a difference maker I think.
Still can’t be mad at them with the turnaround year they had, but it was disappointing to see how it ended.
With NIL and transfer portal, can they string together another positive year? Time will tell.
