Ozark - Let someone from Appalachian State(1-AA College) splain that to you. But of course you are from the Ozark hills country and I guess news travels slow down there....

Yeah, well, I don't follow football. I don't know what Michigan's team is called, and I never even heard of that other college.
I went to some football games in '63 or so because I was trying to hit on one of our h.s. cheerleaders. That didn't work out.
But if those two teams you're talking about are going to play each other - then I bet one or the other of them will win. I hope it's whichever one you're for, and that you enjoy it.
Carry on.

Ozark - Don't know if you're yankin my chain or not but AS beat Mich U at home in their opener and they were ranked #2 at that time. One of the biggest upsets of all time. Ummmm... something like the Cards sweeping the Yankmees this year.

fish - Naw, I'm not yanking your chain.
I do follow baseball some, and the path to the World Series there at least makes some sense. Well, it used to make more sense before the league divisions, wild card teams, inter-league games, and all that. Two leagues, and whichever teams won the most games in each league played each other for the championship.
In college football, I guess sportswriters "rank" the teams based on their opinions. They decide one team is #2, another is #27 - then they play one game and the "bad" team goes and beats the "good" team.
With a system like that, I wouldn't think you'd be surprised when that happens. But, it ain't my sport, and I know a lot of people are really into it.
