Went there last summer during 4th of July and had a great time. It might be a tourist trap, but the free moonshine and whiskey samplings is mighty fine.

If you go to Gatlinburg definitely eat at Cherokee Grill, Mellow Mushroom, or Crockett's Breakfast Camps. The Cades Cove and Laurel Falls are easy places to visit and great to see. I enjoyed myself while there and will visit again. Best small town Independence Parade I have ever been to. They are very proud and patriotic in that parade. Something that Missouri towns lack anymore.
