Since my stepdaughter's surgery last month, it has been a roller coaster ride and she is still not better. The new shunt is pumping too much fluid out and the neurosurgeons at University Hospital have been treating the damn symptoms and not the cause.

We made a trip to Children's yesterday after we demanded a second opinion. Less than an hour later with the doctors (and another seizure in their office) she will have surgery again Friday in St Louis to replace the pump.

We're really hoping this will take care of the problem...
