Hey folks, I am again "with dog." Her name is "Ruby," a female black British lab purebred, born May 21st. Due to the puppy laws in NE, one cannot get a pup until they're are 8 weeks old, which was the same day she came home with us. She has a good disposition, and is great looking pup (I know I'll post a pic sooon). Back in 2001, we bought Silica Sandy. I followed the Koehler method closely. It worked well then, and I am re-reading the book and starting Ruby down that road of obediance. Good-looking pup I got from Dublem Gundogs in Plattsmouth, NE. His website is http://sites.google.com/site/dublemgundogs/ Bud is a super nice guy, a retired Air Force major that is running his small family-owned business. He has dogs available to sell, although he holds back several from each litter than he trains himself. So, if you want a started dog or a finished one, he can take care of your needs. |

You hit the nail on the head with “followed the method closely” regardless of what method you choose. I have been using the Evan Graham material for the obedience and retrieving parts of my DD pups training introduction. Working around the hotter days has been a challenge, but we are starting to make some progress! Best of luck with your pup! ![]() |
