Re: Eastside IPA

Relevant to nothing - I confused the name with "Eastside Old Tap Lager", which competed with "Brew 102" as Los Angeles' two cheapest beer brands - the ones that so enhanced my high school experience circa 1962.

A quarter a can for either one, OR if I could scrape together an hour-and-a-half's pay, get the discount at $1.29 a six-pack. You should'a seen those Brew 102 TV ads. The first 101 batches made at the brewery were just a LITTLE bit off and though anybody else would have thought the stuff was great, their discerning brewmasters (Germans, liederhosen, suspenders, shaggy mustaches, feathers in their pointy little hats) weren't quite satisfied.

But boy, Brew 102 turned out just perfect. "Ja, ja - ist GUT!"

Both Eastside and Brew 102 were swill - absolute swill.

But I digress. Carry on.
