Re: Little League World Series

I have mixed feelings.....I know some kids who play 50-75 games a summer and absoutely love it. They just want to play baseball....everyday they can. Unfortunately, they can't play every day in the local park like we did when we were kids, because there ain't enough kids to get a game going.....the rest are holed up beside a video game or some othe rindoor activity.

There'ts of kids in our neighborhood......but I don't see them outside very much....my kids play with each other, or their mom and I.

If a kid wants to play ball every day, he has to play on a select team or play for 2 or three different teams.

Yeah, I think it burns some of the kids up......and yeah, very few make it to the big leagues.....but it's always been that way. Playing pro sports is like winning the lottery, and alot has to go right for a kid to make it there. It should be that way.....the very few kids who make it all the way are the survivors.....the strongest of the lot....that's life.

I don't think that just because a kid plays 75 games a summer that he is automatically miserable....and I agree that there is no reason to throw a 12 or 13 year old until their arm hurts.....lifetime arm problems are bad no matter what you end up doing for a living.

Parents screw up little league.....not the kids....they're just kids like we were....they just want to play.
