They were 50/50 to make the playoffs at the beginning of the year, at best. They have played like a .500 team. Not getting top tier play from players making top tier money and the whole bunch is inconsistent. The maddening part is when they play their best, they can compete with all but the top tier teams.

I had mentally set my hopes on next year and more realistically, the year after that. Next year will be some growing pains with the youth movement, as well. Hoping to see some of those lads make it up this year yet. Might as well start to get them some seasoning while you can. Even if the Blues pull a rabbit out of a hat and make the playoffs, it will be a very short run.
