Stop me if this one's already posted here...

A young cowboy walked into the town cafe. He sat at the counter and noticed an old cowboy with his arms folded, staring blankly at a full bowl of chili.

After fifteen minutes of just sitting there staring at it, the young cowboy bravely asked the old cowpoke, "If you ain't gonna eat that, mind if I do?"

The older cowboy slowly turned his head toward the young wrangler and in his best cowboy manner said, "Nah, go ahead."

The young cowboy eagerly reached over, slid the bowl over to his place and started spooning in it with delight. He got nearly down to the bottom and when he noticed a dead mouse in the chili. The sight was shocking, and the young cowboy immediately barfed up the chili back into the bowl.

And the old cowboy quietly said, "Yep, that's as far as I got, too."
