Snake ID please

I am no snake expert, generally I see em, I try to hit em with a stick or something. I did let a speckled kingsnake go around the new house, but I didn't know for sure what he was until I googled it later.
So I get home today, and a few hours later the wife tells me about seeing this guy close to the front door today. I can almost never ID a snake exactly, what do you think this one is?

I can't make out the head very well, but the markings on its back look like a Timber Rattler.
Did you get any other pics?

GoGop,
I saw you were on line after I posted. I just don't quite see the same pattern, but its a small one, so what do I know. Our place is surrounded by hundreds of acres of woods, so who knows. Here is the only other pic:

Ahh, I can see the head better in that one. Looks like an Eastern Hognose.
