Found these.....

So yesterday I was looking for shrooms in Cass county. I was checking out a spot where I have found them consistently for several years. I looked there last Friday and didn't find any and this time I only found a single morel. As I reached down to pick it I spotted something hidden under some logs. It was a sealed container covered in camo tape with a letter on top. I figured it was a geo-cache so I opened it to take a look. Turned out to be a letter box which is similar to a geo-cache except you don't need a GPS to find them. I thought it was a fun and unexpected find so I took a minute to write a letter in their log book before putting it back where I found it.

Then today I went back to a spot in Jackson county that has been producing fairly for me for a week now. Found 24 this time and they were the biggest ones yet. On the long bike ride back to where I parked I decided to take a side hike to a spot that just caught my eye, not really sure why. Didn't find any mushrooms there but I spotted a black tube strapped to a tree. It seemed pretty peculiar so I went to investigate. When I got there I noticed another black tube on the ground with a bunch of trinkets laying around. As I examined the find there was a laminated note attached to an end cap, it was a geo-cache. Unfortunately someone or something or maybe just the weather had dumped the contents out down the hillside. I picked up what I could find and re packed it before I left.

Two caches in two day in two counties, both just by chance, what are the odds. Kind of a fun twist to mushroom hunting anyway.
