Not to get too deep, but almost bit the big one.
Working on a new house with my son-in-law,putting up trusses with a crane. He was hooking them up,and I was useing a strap to guide them to the crew on the roof.Crane operator zigged when he should of zagged about 4 hours into it,and hit the power line. Happened so quick,I'm not sure what happened, the flash blinded me for a few seconds...all I felt was a tingle and a shockwave. The crew told us later the lines were bouncing around for a while...found out later it was a 4,200 line.
EMS and the elec. workers told us it was a miracle any of us survived. No injuries, but 10-30 minutes later, the 3 of us(me,son, crane operator)were shaking pretty bad as we relized how close it was...things like this result in fatalities more often than not.
I guess it takes things like this to remind you how to enjoy each day you have, and not be stuck in a rut.
Stayed in bed all day Sunday and watched football, seeing all the snow, while I turn on the ac because it was 87 down here..don't miss that mess at all!
