Cucumbers in November
      #253906 - 11/01/16 11:25 AM

The leaves on the soft maples are still green, and I'll have to mow the grass again this week.

That's late for sure, but I have a vine that still has three cukes on it. I know for damn sure I've never picked a cucumber in November. They're not even bitter.

Is it ever gonna get cold ?

Haus, I realize you're quite a ways South of here. This doesn't usually happen around these parts.

Most of my garden has been fubar since August. ( due to my negligence )

But, any late cukes have always been bitter, and any mater that ripens after the middle of Sept. tastes like hammered chit.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not complaining.

Thought this was the year I would kill a duck. Cold weather shut down that goal. Oh well. Always next year.
