Ribs and Caesars
      #230252 - 07/09/12 04:58 AM

On my deck, with my gerbera daisys.

I go to only the finest of places.

My damn pool boy now has a gray mustache and hair, but he still has a bitchin' tan!

lol

Try this:

No real measurements, I just sort of winged it.

Take four sweet potatoes, peal and cut into wedges. After making it the first time I'm thinking the bigger the wedges the better. Place wedges on aluminum foil.

In a separate bowl whisk together honey and fresh lime juice. Again, no real measurements, I was just trying things. If you want it sweeter, use more honey than lime juice, tarter, the opposite. I also put some cayenne pepper into the mix. In retrospect, I didn't use near enough.

Prepare to make a foil pouch for the grill. I placed three pats of butter on each pouch (and again in retrospect, I should have sprayed the foil with Pam or something), then pour some of the honey/lime mix over the potatoes. Seal the pouch, place on grill.

mmmmmmmmmmmm

From Ribs and Dictators...with no picts, recipes, and a small rant from left field.....to a recipe for a potato that she didn't cook right....in retrospect, but it was tasty.

And this is why we don't let women hunt with us.....or go on overnight fishing trips.

Here ya' go dog
.
1/2 tsp of paprika
1/4 tsp oregano
1/2 tsp minced garlic
1/2 tsp onion salt
chopped chives
2 tsps chili powder

Rub on ribs and double wrap in foil. BBQ at 325 degrees for one hour. Unwrap, and cook and baste in BBQ for another 15 minutes.

(Because BBQ's have thermometers now!)

And, good caesars require Absolut.

Dropped a cylinder out of my Seadoo this weekend, and I still haven't bothered to tear it apart, so I'm not sure if it's a piston, or a head gasket. Ain't toys grand?

Sounds like a typical Yankee/Canadian way to fix ribs. Did you boil them in water also to get them tender.

Those poor ribs....I almost cried when I read how you cooked them.

Ahhh...you missed it. I always have fun outside. I don't eat pork often, so no I don't boil ribs.

The beauty of the BLT Caesar is that it can be used with just about any of the Caesar recipes. The main difference with the BLT is the garnishes. This is one of my faves, because let's face it, everyone loves bacon.

1 oz. vodka
2 dashes of Tabasco Sauce
3 dashes of salt and pepper
4 dashes of Worcestershire sauce
5 oz. of Clamato juice

Garnish:
Rimmer (Celery Salt)
1 wedge of lime
1 small piece of romain lettuce
1 slice of bacon
1 slice of tomato

Use the wedge of the lime to moisten the rim of the glass. Rim with celery salt. Fill glass with ice. Add all ingredients and stir well. Garnish with a small piece of romain lettuce, a slice of bacon, and slice of tomato.

That's the original recipe, but who doesn't substitute an ounce here or there?

She had me on the BLT part until the one piece of bacon. A BLT is a sammich deserving of 4-5 pieces of bacon 2-3 slices of maters, hunk of lettuce, and a smathering of mayo. Anything less is just some northern screwed up version of a good meal.

Ribs in foil.......BLT's for a drink garnish.......no wonder yall are forked up.

Dawg.

Our Dad (IIFID and I) loved nothin betta than a BLT but it had to be HIS maters......

He always said his 1st question for St. Pete was going to be
"Why didn't you ever let me have a ripe mater before the lettuce went to seed?"

For fat boys like me, Miracle whip light instead of Mayo!

Pulease DOG. Go back to your mushroom or pumpkin patch, or whateva you call it.

My recipes have your three basic food groups.

Meat, tomatoes and alcohol.

We're not messed up in here. Saturday night my son went to the bestest wedding ever at a big old farm near where I used to live. HUGE party, great food and drink!

The bride didn't show up!

I didn't realize CANADA was the BBQ capital of the world. My bad. RIBS don't get cooked in an hour at 325 degrees with some forked up sissy spices. The debate is still out, but a great slab of ribs doesn't get ruined in sauce either.

Only in Canada does a BTL land as garnish for a fancy named bloody mary. I'll have me a BLT Caesar later.......only my BLT will be on a plate with bread and a bloody mary in a glass beside it. I think I'll call it a Bloody BLT...just so I feel special.

When you find some Clamato juice to make a Caesar, enjoy!
