This feller seems to have done just that and with the same engine I always talked about using along with a gear box. Good lookin little rig but I think he used too much reduction cuz it barely moves his tiny boat. My 1:1 motors aren't very fast but they are faster than his and with a load too. The props I use are the same diameter and pitch. 2:1 is perfect for these things. In any event, I couldn't fathom paying more than a couple hundred dollars for one, this tool wants $980!!!
