The hard part of being a controller on the ground is you can't see what the pilot is seeing and vice versa when directing CAS (Close Air Support). Talking a pilot on to a target takes time, lots of training and wastes ordnance since many times the pilot has to walk their bombs in to the target. The Rover allows a controller to call in close air support even closer to the ground unit it trouble. The old "Danger Close" was 2000 meters, now it's just a mere 75 meters. The new "John Madden" version of the Rover will be even better.
